Its £225 without the "trimmings" but its also available for any bike and works with its own internal battery.. This particular one is made to swap out with the Bosch display so is easy to fit and keep powered up.Dont they go on!! its over £300 and only fits Bosch systems but it would be easy for Bafang for example to make a mobile phone mount, bluetooth connection maybe instead of their LCD, its the way to go which i suppose is why Bosch bought it out.
Thanks.Thats the point mike, you take your smart phone with you when you lock your bike up, i had some Bar Steward try to nick my LCD display because he thought he might get the price of a fix for it, luckily i came back and disturbed him.
I bought the kit at £305. The extras are the front light.. and the rear indicators. Both I could do without as the front light is only really ok as an auto daytime running light and the indicator idea is not everyone's cup of tea, although I must say the rear is better than I thought.+Gubbins £225 is still a lot and if thats the basic i suppose the extras are actually essential(they usually are) BUT BUT BUT i will still look into it because i think its a good practical idea.
My phone is in an armoured case and it fits in more securely than anything I have seen before. Some phones are waterproof now, mine isn't so when I got caught in a shower I just put it in my pocket. Everything still works as it doesn't need to be plugged in.Thanks.
Not convinced, what about the rain?
Have to say that a lot of devices, not just ebike ones are coming with a smart phone requirement in order to save manufacturing costs.
I have had more than enough of flat pack furniture and other similar cost cutting exercises.
Got to agree in most cases, but i hardly use my smart phone so another use for it would be good for me and as far as rain is concerned my phone is pretty waterproof as i use it as a bike sat nav sometimes and IF it was connected via bluetooth then no connections needed, if no bluetooth then a rainproof cover would be needed so the exposed connectors dont get shorted by the rain. I was probably the last person in Bristol to adopt a smart phone, I used to hate them, i still do, but i have to admit they can be useful.Thanks.

I don't get the reasoning. So instead of stealing an OEM LCD, the thief gets to nab a £225 mobile phone connection kit?Thats the point mike, you take your smart phone with you when you lock your bike up, i had some Bar Steward try to nick my LCD display because he thought he might get the price of a fix for it, luckily i came back and disturbed him.
It has a locking screw so it cant be removed like the intuvia. or, you can not use the locking screw and take it with you like you would the intuviaI don't get the reasoning. So instead of stealing an OEM LCD, the thief gets to nab a £225 mobile phone connection kit?
