Bosch power on a bike with a not too shabby component list.

A fantastic buy at the current bid price of £480, can't see it staying at that though!

you'd have thought they could at least have a picture of the right bike, nice bike all the same.

I think its the right bike here is link to Evans site:

Scott E-SUB 10 2011 Electric Bike | Evans Cycles

light weight at 18.5 kg but no front suspension, so its a road bike really. Could you fit some £150 front suspension then it would be more of a hybrid? not sure if this would work as depends on frame geometry?

at around £1000 or so it would be very good value, I have seen one or two 2011 Bosch models at £1500. this is new which is nice.......

Agreed re suspension Eddie; I wouldn't be without it these days.

As for the bike generally, this link shows what one bike retailer has/had it marked up for so, if it could be purchased for a grand to a grand and a half, I think it would represent good value. At least it looks like a proper bicycle and it's lightweight!

ps At that weight, I'd happily carry a couple of those without batteries on my Fiamma rack!

Gears:Shimano XT shifter / Shimano M773 rear mech / FSA Metropolis chainset / Shimano XT 11-34 tooth cassette / 10 gears

from evans site, and same picture......but looks odd without dangly thingy:p

looking at his history def not a bike shop...has sold all sorts of stuff

That's why it was said the wrong photo was used. Single speed bikes and especially "fixies" with single speed and no freewheel are very much back in favour now, especially among some courier cyclists.

The Scott E-sub 10 is available with either derailleur or geared hub. The machine on Ebay has a photo of the Alfine 8 speed version, but the text describes the derailleur version.

That will depend on what it actually sells for Eddie?
The buyer will need to be small and perfectly formed;)

The winner pipped the leading bidder by 5p in the very last few seconds. Thought it would have gone for more.

I watched the last 5 mins Eddie and I was very tempted even though it's not really the kind of bike I enjoy. For those who are comfortable on that style of unsprung frame, bars, etc, it represents a fantastic saving on the RRP. The Scott certainly boasts a good quality set of components and is based on a real bicycle unlike some of the stuff a few people on this forum have paid much more to own. Somebody got lucky; wonder if it was a forum member!

Wasn't me although I too watched it to the end. The seller wouldn't answer any questions despite claiming that he would welcome any! Would have bid if the seller had been more open. The 0.5 pence winning margin is misleading as at this price range on Ebay the bids, I believe, are in increments of £20.00. It follows that the highest bidder may have left a Bid of anything between £870 and infinity!

Bargain, if it exists. Will be interesting to await the feedback.
