earwig, if you took the bike back to the supplier, the gears could be sorted within minutes.
The weight, sadly all e-mtb's are too heavy, as are e-bikes as a whole. Some just somehow manage to hide/place or utilise the weight better than others.
I take it that you also have the Performance Line motor, and totally agree about the range offered by the battery. It seems way down when compared with the Active Line motor, but it does give an extra 12nm of torque, and I guess that this is where the battery consumption is going. I've been using an different KTM e-bike over the last week or so that has an Active Line motor fitted, and hadn't realised until this point, just what a difference that there is in hill climbing performance between the two systems. The Performance Line is seemingly a lot better, but sadly this performance is at the cost of the battery. On the bike fitted with the Active Line motor, the battery duration just seems to go on and on.
The extra mileage can't be put down to the battery either, as I am using the battery from my Macina Lycan on both bikes.
I can't say that I have ever found the charge time to be that bad though, so perhaps it is worth getting your dealer to check this aspect of things over, at the same time as the gears. To be honest, I don't even know how long that mine takes to charge. I just come back from a ride, plug it in, clean the bike, grab some grub etc, and it's charged.
In respect of Nyon, you will find that members of the German pedelec forum are also giving up with it. Mine has performed without fault, but I stand by my comments that Nyon has zero place on an e-mtb. My outer bezel has already broken of it's own accord, and the screen is also now cracked after a crash. It is just too big to be of any use. I am also finding that it switches display settings of it's own accord. Initially I had been knocking it, but moved things and it's still always happening over rough bumpy terrain. I suspect that somehow the joystick/toggle is the cause. It's a complete pain to try and re set it without stopping though. I also don't like the length of time that it takes to turn on/load. It seems to take forever.
Give me the Intuvia set up any day of the week. It's less cluttered, simpler, smaller, more practical, and is more suited to e-mtb use. I intend to get rid of my Nyon, but I'm just going to wait until it is completely smashed and ruined before doing so. With every ride, it does bug the crap out of me though.
