bosch embt assitance mode - how to use it ?

Featured Replies

I have a kalkoff with a bosch performance line motor. It has embt assistance level between tour and turbo. Its meant to modulate the assitance between those 2 limits, but i cant seem to make it work in any way consistently. For instance if I am fighting a headwind it seems to give me no more assitance than tour mode. Where as sometimes when going up an small hill it will give me as much assitance as turbo. I assume it measures cadence and possibly the torque applied to the pedals to come to decision on what assitance level to apply.

Has anyone experimented to get a better ideal on how to use it ?

I have the same, and am going to get it reprogrammed back to regular sport mode, fixed % assist. In emtb mode it is very torque sensitive, in fact that is about all it cares about. Stand on the pedals, get turbo assist, ease off or use granny gear, and get hardly any. I don't think cadence gets much of a look in.

I experimented and changed back to sport mode. I can decide when and how much more assistance I want. Sport gives a no messing instant increase in assistance.

I think i will have too look at getting it changed to sport mode then. For someone who lives in a flat part of the country and uses the bike to commute i just dont see any value in the embt mode.
