I believe it can be retrofitted. I was wishing for even smaller display. Don't know if it's worth switching from intuvia.

The improved battery life with smartphones is due to increases efficiency in data compression and signal efficiency. Ie not transmitting in the quiet bits between noise and digitising the signal instead of AM modulated waste.
You can't do that with bikes as the energy is used to get my fat a&£@s up a hill.
That is fixed and cant be changed. ( slimming world excepted)
