Hi All
I started refurbishing old bikes during covid as a hobby and my interest in DIY e-bikes began.
I bought a Claud butler cape wrath in perfect condition apart from the perished tyres were it had sat in a shed for most of its life.
I researched electric conversion kits and decided on a bafang 750w bbs02 mid drive with a 17.5Ah battery. I fitted a thumb throttle and gear sensor with a 500c discrete display. The project was a success and worked perfectly. Max speed of 32 mph with a range of 50 miles.( I weigh 90kg ).
My next project is an old GT avalanche powered by a 1500w rear hub motor.
So I hope to share the build with you 5AD47BBE-6145-498F-97B4-27723411840C.jpegDE61CC40-8AD6-4815-B6F7-C37C868622D7.jpeg4F845124-F033-4238-9648-63F9FC5E0251.jpeg

I upgraded the stock cane creek rim brakes for shimano mt200 hydraulic brakes and lucky enough the Stock Richey rims were disc ready. I fitted 160 disc to the rear and a 180 on the front.
I used the magnet brake sensors for the hydraulic brakes for the bafang kit.
