On my way to work today, a pleasant minus 6 degrees but feeling confident with the ice spikers on... suddenly bang, rear tyre blew.

Had done 5 miles, 13 to go. Put the gaadi tube in and managed to get the bike home going slowly.

Only place I can find a replacement is rose bikes in Germany... anyone have any experience of them? Delivery times etc?

Rose are brilliant company to deal with, and I have bought from them many a time. Their own brand clothing is also of very good quality.
I have also found the delivery times to be quicker than many UK based companies.

Oh, just noticed they only do the folding evolution version....are these suitable for ebikes?

The replacement tyre from Rosebikes arrived 2 days after order placed, so cant complain about that. Just hope this one survives a bit longer than the last.....this one is a liteskin, so probably more vulnerable to side damage, but the only one i could get in my size.

Chain reaction kindly did a voucher refund on the blown one, so stocked up on inner tubes, break pads etc.

Checked the rim carefully when I put the new one on, no sign of anything that could cause that type of failure.....odd for it to happen twice. Needless to say, today, my first day back on it after a bout of man flu, I took it really steady....
