Just retested those links to lock reviews, and they are fine, so here again:

I've got the Abus Granit 1metre 'cable' myself, plus a Bulldog D.

The earlier bulldogs could be opened with the top of a biro (see YouTube!) but this later lot are very good. The Abus gets high marks in those reviews, and is built like a tank. (Pre-electric, I would have worried about the weight of the locks, but now a kilo or two doesn't matter much).
