Bike Locks

One suspects the only improvement is adding a bronze labelling to the lock and packaging.

I heard they packed the rollers tighter and did something with the plastic to improve it.

There is no lock that can't be defeated by the right tool. All you can do is get a lock that can defeat the common types of assault. Who carries 25mm hydraulic bolt croppers down their trousers?

My wife made the same comment. I was only pleased to see her.

That cheaper one has different packaging and doesn't have the Sold Secure Bronze logo on it, so might be the old version before they improved it.

Turns out the seller is using old pics of the lock, my one arrived yesterday evening and is the bronze secure model as shown in your pic. Both the packagoing and lock are marked.
I won't miss out on a couple of meals of onion ring sor chips with the saved money.
Much heavier and beefier then my older oxford lock of the same style .

I now have two heavy duty D locks and this heavier duty cable lock, as has been said it is about deterring and passing/waiting scum should turn their attention to easier targets.
I have no issue carrying the three locks if I need them as they go in the panniers , all my trips under 2 or 3 miles are done by bike except taking pussies to the vets if needed.

I buy most of my food in the Co-op. If you're a member, they do a deal of 5 items for £5. Yesterday, it was 2 fish fillets, packet of fish fingers, packet frozen peas, large packet frozen chips and a box of 3 chocolate ice creams. My double chest freezer is full to the brim of chips/waffles/onion rings/ wedges because the amount you get is disproportionate with the other stuff, so I have to give them away whenever I get the opportunity.

Let us know what you think of the lock. I really like mine. I needed it to replace my last one that was about 15 years old. Eventually, UV light cracked the outer plastic covering, which left the rollers more exposed than I like.

Bronze, I would use that to lock a helmet under £20 to a bike

My Oxford cable one has lost 80% of the outer covering from UV deg, the s/s braided linked outer is nice and shiny, the lock is still a deterrent when used with others as it adds more security to get thru.

For the price it looks and feels a good deterrent, quite a heavy chunky cable lock compared to other I'v seen and better then a clanky chain and padlock. As we say though on it's own it's not be enough but I have always used min of two locks and often three, frame and each wheel shackled.
