The Byocycles Ibex + (or the Ibex) are both available from lots of retailers online (if that was your preference) and from our network of dealers, the ibex comes in at budget, the ibex + may be able to be found cheaper online from someone having a sale.

The only thing you'd have to change is the tyres, although my personal ibex+ has done around 500 miles according to the LCD screen and I've not had a puncture! (touch wood)

Do you have any dealers near Hull/York?

Only the 13aH one. Will this be sufficient? What realistic range will I get on this?

http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/2016-woosh-karoo-hub-drive.23864/ :)

As Trex has indicated, I did have to work hard to achieve the mileage range that I did. But as said in the review, I used the highest power setting for the whole distance.

As with any bike, I'm not suggesting that you rush out and buy one without first trying one, and would suggest trying several different bikes first, before making any kind of decision.

if you email woosh, send to support or use the contact page.
Hatti's mailbox has spam filter which may cause problems. If you email hatti, cc to support.
Web messages are also much better handled.

Decided against the Woosh in the end. The 1 year warranty put me off. Especially with the other post with the problem just after warranty running out and having to wait 2 to 3 months to resolve. Knowing my luck the same would happen to me.

Looking at the Freego Hawk at the moment. This costs a little more (£1000) but has 2 years warranty so gives me that little extra peace of mind.

Also I can get the Halfords Carrera E for £900. This also comes with a 2 year warranty.

E Bikes have more that can go wrong with them than regular bikes. As such I feel happier with that extra years warranty.

Maybe a 2016 Wisper 905se would fit the bill? 10 year frame Warranty, 2 years on other parts. Light weight, quick, nimble and all but silent. Discs back and front, no rattle, solid as a rock!

We have 11 years experience in the market and a stockist in York.

For your peace of mind... If in the unlikely event one of our bikes malfunctions due to a problem covered by warranty, and we cannot put it right in 5 days, we will lend you a bike so you can still get to and from work until your bike is fixed. This offer lasts for the duration of your 2 year warranty.

If I can be of any assistance please call me 07733226906.

All the best

David

Thanks David. If I'd seen this earlier I'd have been interested (assuming the price was in my budget).

I popped in to Halfords on the way home and was really impressed by the Carrera.

Ordered with Marathon Plus tyres and replacement inner tubes and also 3 years servicing. Cost me just over £980. Bike due in the UK early May.

Will come back with a review once I've had the bike for a while.

Thanks for all the help.

The forum has played a big part in what I've chosen. Seeing the various posts made me put warranty at the top of my priorities.

I thought I'd pop in to my local stockist (Cycle Heaven in York) to have a look at the Wisper Bike in rea life. It looks amazing in the pictures.

However they don't stock it. They only had bikes from another brand.

So sorry about that Leccy.

Shannons in York has the Wisper SE, Cycle Heaven is a Riese & Muller stockist, specialising in Birdy.

Please drop me a line and I will make sure Carol has a bike ready for you to see.

All the best

David

Ok.

I'll be replacing the tyres with Schwalbe Marathons. Woosh have given me a price to do that. Hopefully that won't reduce my range too much.

All looks good to place the order this week.

Unless anybody has a last minute recommendation of something better.

Hi - I realise your post is a few years ago but hopefully you, or someone else can help me. Thinking of ordering the Karoo with riser and adjuster for handlebars. Shop were very helpful when I visited and tried out the bikes but after reading this review I called them to ask if they could put on Schwalbe Marathon tyres. They said they couldn't as they'd have to order them and in any case weren't needed. Yet they will be ordering parts for the handlebars. The shops attitude today has kind of put me off - I don't know much about bike maintenance but reading that the Schwalbe tyres are practically puncture proof sounds too good to be true. The shop told me I should get the bike (which will take about a week to be ready for adjustments to be made to a new one) and then take it to a bike shop for them to fit the tyres - I live nowhere near their store in Southend - can you - or someone advice - should I insist they order and fit the Schwalbe tyres? Leave it or find another bike altogether? Thanks

EdJ, you could have had the messages mixed up, I know Woosh will fit a pair of Schwalbe marathon plus tyres and Schwalbe innertubes to the Karoo for £50, they don't stock them so it will take them a few days, perhaps that's what they mean. Better wait a week for the bike to be properly built by woosh.
Email support @ woosh if you have questions.

No I don't have my messages mixed up! I think I know who I spoke too and only one company sell Woosh bikes! I quoted the conversation exactly verbatim. I will try to speak to Hatti tomorrow but the guy is really unhelpful and because of that I'm completely put off Woosh! Perhaps they offered good customer service 3 years ago but clearly not now.
