Any recommendations for a girls bike ( must be pink.. and before you ask.. I have told her she can't borrow yours Flecc:).

My daughter is very keen on cycling, but still needs stabilisers ( I know how she feels) . Willing to spend up to £80-£100 for one that will last a couple of years.. or a decent second hand one if anyone has one taking up space in their garage??

A to B magazine rate the German Puky childrens bikes very highly and they are probably the best kids bikes around, but inevitably a bit pricey. Here's a link to a suitable new one on Amazon:

Puky in Lovely Pink

or a bit cheaper here.

Although expensive, it's worth bearing in mind that it could fetch a good secondhand price later, such is their reputation. I haven't ridden them personally though. :)

This company has a great advice site for choosing kids bikes:

Highfield Cycles

Thanks Flecc,
I'll check it out.

Hi Keith,
Unfortunately, my daughter thinks electric bikes are for "old people like you Daddy"!

Hi,

We've found both Treks and Ridgebacks to be great starting bikes for the kids. My son had a Ridgeback MX 16 when he was 4 but we probably bought it a year too early.

This bike was perfect for setting up with the trail gator tow bar - Trail-Gator Child Bike Tow Bar. Used with the flip up stabilisers it's a great way to get out together, get them confident on the roads and then attach and un-attach as the kids feel like it.

Good luck,

Ian
