Bike for Mum, must be step through and have hub gears

Hi Woosh,
I've just registered as doubleclanger (I should have used a 'k' as 'Klang's dad!) to enter this forum as I'm interested in the Sunbear which you have offered..
I think I'm almost up to speed but have a couple of questions to avoid any misunderstanding please.
1. Frame size; I may be out of date but I seem yo remember this being measured from the centre of the crank to the base of the seat post. The Sunbear is quoted as a 19" frame but the illustration with dimensions shows 52cms which equates to nearly 20 1/2". Can you explain where I'm getting this wrong?
2. Battery; I understand you are willing to add the 15AH battery, which is great, but what make are they?

2. Battery: 36V 15AH battery with Samsung INR18650-29E cells, they are the most popular cylindrical cells for E-bikes, used by most brands.

3. bike colour: black.

All the electrics are brand new.

The hydraulic rim brakes on the Motus are exactly the correct thing for a casual cyclist... trouble free, extremely reliable. I would not worry about the battery either. Bosch product is good. I have the same vintage model .. except with dereillieur gears. The only concern you should have is its actual size. An 18 inch frame is for a big woman, or a medium man. . I fit nicely on mine..but I am 5 7 . My wife at 5 4 would find it excessive

Thanks for this steer, that is very useful to know and does probably take that one out of the mix in this case. It may well have gone beyond budget anyway but i will keep an eye on teh auction anyway for future reference. Looks like a very nice bike.

Thank you for the info. I take it that there is some type of lock on the batteries?
I know this is a big ask but I was seduced by your original photo of the white Sunbear. I don't suppose you have one on offer in white?

Yes, there is a lock.
You don't need the key to ride, only to remove the battery from the bike.

we have 350mm, 400mm and 450mm seat pins.
The 350mm suspension post or 400mm non suspension post are good for your height. We just fit what you want.
Your weight is just borderline for us to recommend the BPM motor (16st and above), if where you ride is relatively flat, then the SWX motor is perfectly good. The main benefit is it's easy to remove the motor, just unplug the motor lead and it's like a normal bike.
The BPM has to have torque arms fitted, will take longer to remove.

Just to let any readers of this post know that the issue has been 'doubly' resolved.
The Mum in this thread was thought too small and light for the Woosh Sundowner so we got an EMU step through which, on early inspection, fits the bill. As for the Dad he agreed a deal with Woosh to convert bike to a Sunbear to accommodate his weight and 6ft 2ins height. He is very much looking forward to the extra grunt of the Bafang BPM motor with an 15 ah battery.
When the Woosh is delivered, hopefully next week, we will publish a report on early indications of both with pictures.
I'm sure both Mum and Dad will be very pleased with both bikes and the outcome. Thank you for reading this post and for all the contributors who have added their considerable knowledge especially 'Mr Woosh'.
