Hi all. I've been looking for some time for a bike suitable for me. I'm 21 stone and after a bike to hopefully bring some fun back to cycling for me. I have woods round the corner to me so aim to use in there and on the road.
A twist throttle would be good along with the pedal assist. It's all pretty flat here (leigh on sea, Essex) but I'm thinking a 250w motor won't be enough considering my weight?
So long as the bike looks fairly normal im sure i would be fine with a higher wattage

Any recommendations would be great, thanks

riese and muller are tough and sturdy, 140kg is stated. And that's just what's stated

I've been torturing something that reccomends 110- for the past 4 months

so if you can afford or save up, get something from r+m

What sort of performance can i expect from the motor at my weight ?
Take Leigh Hill for example, you should be able to climb it with a little pedaling.
Range: about 40-45 miles with the 15AH battery.

Sounds promising. And what about flat ground? Can you move by throttle alone? Is there any way to remove the 15mph limiter?

I've just seen on the Woosh site the big bear isn't suitable for off road. Are there any other suggestions ?

the Warrior is good for off roading:

You may have seen it already in Leigh.
The motor is Bafax MaxDrive G330, 48V 12AH battery, range about 35-40 miles. Price: £1,299. A bargain.

Sounds like you need eMTB. Most use torque sensing middrive motor compared to cadence sensing hub on Bear.
You need to test ride a few bikes to understand difference.

So the warrior is one of yours?

Pop in our shop in Queens Road, it's in the shop window.
We try to be discreet, if you see the red Woosh logo on the head tube, it's from us.

Do you have a link? Would it perform as well as the big bear up hills and be ok on trails?
