Well there you go. When it stops raining I shall be on the bike and up to the hills for a giant freakin scream of 'techstration'. That's the new gizmo inspired version of frustration. There a new word.
We had one the other day, when she who must had the cat on her lap. She said I'd got to make the tea 'cos she was 'incapussitated'.;)

If you can't figure it out, ask a 12 year old kid how to do it. They're born pre-programmed to deal with this stuff.

When childproof caps came on the medicine bottles my wife's granny used to go out to the school kids to have them opened.

I feel much the same myself these days.

Asked a 14 year old today and he answered in words of more than one sylable. However still no joy. I'm going to try fitting a micro SD card.

Do you remember when you were 14? Anyone over 40 seemed archaic and totally old fashioned!
They still are, to me anyway.

What's the problem again?
Well, I've got as far as downloading OSManD, which seems to start but is then telling me there is not enough external storage. So I've assumed that it needs an HD card, so I've ordered a micro SD card and hope that does the trick.

That doesn't surprise me. Budget phones have to cut corners somewhere and internal storage is nearly always the first casualty. Memory cards are cheap though, so not a real biggie. If you need any help with the app once the memory card is installed, just let me know.

You probably need external storage to download the Google maps too.

You see, I was quite 'appy with me OS map folded up and mounted in the purpose built plastic folder on top of my Carradice handlbar box, thought I was the beezneez. Then I fell for the siren call of the gizmo and, despite luddite leanings, got sucked into this maelstrom of techy gobbledegook. The real kicker is, even if I get it working, I'll still have to stop and put me glasses on to read the bloody screen!o_O

Oh dear! Just turned the 'phone on to have another re-thought go at it and the screen has just gone whiteout. Only way I can turn it off now is to take the battery out.:oops: Just looked at the sites return conditions and they need my e bay ID, I don't think I have one as I bought it as a guest.
Oh wo and thrice wo, wot a comedy of errors:( First experience of buying from the big bad world of eeeebay, lessons learned, withdrawing swiftly into old cumudgenly shell !

The seller is a long-established ebay trader. His only bad feedback is about stuff that got lost in the post. Did the phone work when you put the battery back in?

You'll have a transaction ID, so no sweat being a guest

Hi as a phone to make and receive calls probably not much worse . this performance is set by the GSM consortium. As an in pocket computer gizmo it would not be at the races I assume that at 600 pounds you are talking Samsung galaxy s6 or s7. These Samsung's and their competitors typically ...
3 times more memory, much faster processor ,superb screen excellent battery life. Newer cameras accessing more external storage, better audio circuits probably fingerprint recognition ability to cast to external displays.

These second and third tier machines are typically four or five steps behind the front runners. But they do work!
