No no no...get stopped with one of those and you have a lot of explaining to do. Need to have something that has an innocent purpose, like an Avanti garlic crusher. Also much better for protecting the rest of your knuckles :D

This is lame.
I got blow torches installed in handle bar on both sides. This is me when cornered:

Still need to work on handle bar removal time though...

Can you imagine a remote controlled short circuit in your downtube or bag battery. The guy beats you up and steals your bike. You get your phone out and push the button. Boom! One robber is never going to be able to breed.

For robbers I have another blow torch in seat post connected to red button marked "Don't touch".

... now when I am thinking about it I might move it a bit more from throttle.

I can remember about 15 years ago seeing cars with big blades that swung out from underneath, which cut off the feet of any carjackers. That was when there was a car jacking epidemic. I saw others with flames blasting out from underneath.

The blades are mentioned in this article, but I can't find a picture.

A metal spear propelled electromagnetically up through the seatpost and saddle, on a timer which you have to remember to reset (no remote control needed). Also provides early warning of Alzheimer's.

Ordered on Wednesday, both the GoPro mount for the GPS tracker light, and the 12 LED "6000LM" headlight arrived today FROM CHINA. Ruinous for the planet I'm sure.

Haven't worked out where to locate this light on the bike yet, but this won't do - it'll blind oncoming traffic, because there's no way to angle it down. Pictured mounted to the Minoura handlbar extension, which is mounted vertically to the handbar post. Easily unclipped, when folding the bike.

I'll ask them to give you a ring, so you can negotiate your surrender. They sound like reasonable people.

FYI for anyone considering buying this 6000LM headlight - it only works at 12V! Not "12V to 80V" as described on Aliexpress! Bit of a bummer, because I now have to buy a step down converter ... I don't have any other 36V power supply except my ebike battery, so I only found out after soldering everything together. I should have tested it using my ebike battery charger. Works fine at 12V.

AliExpress seems a crap. I've opened a Paypal case.

Well... at least the GoPro arm from ebay worked out ok. Now my long Dahon seatpost is free to use for purposes of defence of myself, wallet and GoPro camera containing video evidence of the event, should attempted robbery occur. I've lubricated it's quick release clamp, for battle readiness.

I took the opportunity provided by AliExpress's fsckup to extend a wire, for one of the two 1800LM headlights on my handlebar to be mounted to the Minoura extension instead. Like many people over 50, it's now further right. It's tilted down, and one of the two screws which secure this light to it's clamp could be removed, in order to swivel it clockwise. I'll see how it goes - the slightly backward sweep of my handlebar and that light's new position, could be enough for it's light to illuminate number plates passing much further away. It's very likely I'll need a third headlamp perched next to it, because of the narrowness of these 1800LM headlight's beams.

GPS tracker mounted to the pannier rack:

Further right - some do as they age:

I've connected the "2200LM" and "1800LM" lights on the left in series. The right hand side "1800LM" is in parallel. I'm hoping the "1800LM" far left will light up dark/insufficiently lit merry funster number plates overtaking further away - like that night - and get identifiable video recordings of those plates, as they pass by my right side - it can be angled even further to my right (your left).

"Train hard to fight easy": I've been practising my seatpost swings. I'm ready for my next encounter with those merry funsters, and their ilk... (very evil icon)

This GPS tracker light usually automatically switches itself on upon detection of movement at night, but... in this position I've discovered my 1800LM red flasher is so bright, it prevents the GPS tracker's light from turning on lol. I'll leave it there, because this is a feature not a bug: It's red LEDs not switching on preserves it's battery; ensures a longer operating time of it's GPS tracking functions - useful if it takes me longer to retrieve my bike from robbers in their lair, aided by an outlaw posse brandishing Dahon seatposts.

One big badass bright red flashing light is enough:
