sounds like thats his best bet then.suppose bafang didnt bother doing that themselves as they have the bbs02 model for those wanting a motor pushing more power. There is enough space in BBS01 for larger awg wiring it only needs to be 14 awg to handle 25a.
Bafang charge about $20 more for the 25A BBS02B compared to BBS01B. As someone has already said, if you buy enough units, they would be happy to label your BBS02B as BBS01B.suppose bafang didnt bother doing that themselves as they have the bbs02 model for those wanting a motor pushing more power.
there should be a shipping label on the side of the carton which identifies which Bafang factory unit, production date and order specifications. Before B.E.B there have been a couple other sellers of the marked 25a BBS01, one was in Norway and the other I think was EM3EV. I would think all upgrades will be genuine Bafang ex factory units.
My first post here, what I have noticed is the make model hardware on some 250 350 500w are all the same HZXT SZZ9 V1.1 the difference is the software v2.2.1.1 for 250W v2.0.1.1 350w and V1.0.0.1 500w. I have a BBS01B with v2.2.1.1 and changed settings from 15 to 18 and then to 20 amps and 90% keep current and gave it Sum stick last night on power assist 5 and I live near Cilcain big hills and motor is hardly warm. My theory is that they are all possibly 25amp controllers with It saying hardware versions V1.1 and it is firmware controlledif you have anxiety about legality and want high torque for hill climbing than this looks your best bet to be sure.
If its brighton bikes own creation id be concerned the bbs01b wiring can take 25 amps without serious care.the bbs02 has the 25amp controller, but thicker wiring. Although my 350w bbs01b says 20amp max,it comes set at 18 which is where i leave it.i saw somewhere 20 is more risky.I think the 02 controller has more mosfets tho.Any thoughts anyone?
Just looked at brighton bikes website.Says upgraded wiring so i guess its ok .Tho how do they find room in there for thicker wiring, the bbs02 has a slightly bigger case for that reason.
