Just bought the OnGuard 8001 Brute D lock and it looks a great piece of kit and it appears to be exactly like the Halfords one.

Is it recommended to give the internals a good spray with silicone lubricant as I've read many reviews saying their lock had jammed.

silicone lubricant
GT85 killed my kryptonite, although it had water in it, was old and well used. I use green lube after wilko home brand WD40 on my Onguard but again well used and caught in the occasional shower, from new however it never crossed my mind to silicone spray before use. The onguard has out lived by a number of year an Oxford and the aforementioned kryptonite. I would buy Onguard again, the one you purchased looks like mine but newer & yes the lock can jam mine has twice.

Wasn't it for spare keys only, I think mine came with 3 +1 main if you get extended warranty then maybe. Prob just a quick online form.

The Brute should be a good deterrent but two or three locks will usally mean any toe rag may find an easier target.
