I read with great interest the incredibly lengthy debate on this forum as to whether we should or should not actually wear cycle helmets, I'll keep my views on that issue for that post.
My question is what is actually the best helmet?
Obviously we need to define 'best'. Best looking, best protection, best value for money, coolest (temperature) or function?
I would suggest 'What is the best overall?' and how do these modern BMX almost canoeist type fare up against the more traditional vented type, is it a case of the more you pay the better?

Would be interested in views.:)

So far TomB's Giro get my vote for looks.

Im not sure whether the Bell with mirror, light , sauna, snooker table, hot tub and mini bar is a little bit 'geeky'???;)

i think the metropolis is quite a good look for utility/hybrid style bikes - which most pedelecs are. also weight and ventilation are also less of an issue, practicality and robustness being more important for this kind of bike riding?

the matt black without the extras looks quite the part.

[Qstrong UOTE=TomB;23624]for features, for general cycling, would go for one of these:

includes rain cover, mirror and light...[/QUOTE]

I have one these helmets, the mirror is good but the rain cover is a pain, it doesn't have enough stretch in it. You need very strong fingers/wrists to get it on, I don't bother with the rain cover, but apart from this I am well satisfied.

P.S. Don't buy the Reflexite Sam Brown Standard Belt : the main buckle is almost useless, it would satisfactory if they replaced it with a Fastex buckle, as a reflector I have no complaints.
