Of course I love Wisper's and believe they are amongst the best bikes available and are great value!

I am also a realist and understand that not everyone wants to spend the amount of money a medium/high end bike costs.

If this is the case I would far prefer that we converted another to the wonders of electric biking than lose them over price! Surely we are all in this to try and convert as many internal combustion miles to electric as possible? I am certainly not in it for the money! And you never know, they may want to upgrade to a Wisper next time they buy!

There are many good bikes available at lower prices however there are also some horrors. I would far rather promote a competitor with a cheaper bike who I know will look after the customer than lose the sale to the industry.

Just look for the BEBA logo!

RUBBISH! They can always start of with a second hand Wisper and trade up when funds allow, like wot I did....A much better and wiser idea

Hi John,

Wispers are very good bikes but there are alternatives. when you buy a second hand bike you have to make sure the battery has not been abused and will hold its charge and deliver a good range. You can get this checked or try a selection of second hand bikes at e-bikesdirect london store.

My personal preference with regard to mirrors is the Mirrycle which comes with 2 different internal diameter fittings and can be used on most handlebars.

I use a mirrycle mirror on my proconnect, it's good but the actual mirror head only rotates, there's no ball n socket on the back so getting a good view behind takes a bit of fiddling and sometimes the arm won't be in a position you want it. It would be so much easier if the mirror head could be move in more than one direction.

Well I never thought we could have so many thoughts on a mirror. My youngest son has a pair of Stadium all singing and dancing folding ones. They cost 50pounds a piece. As he has a Vintage Vespa that he is selling before going to seek his fortune on OZ. I could by those off him but I think there a bit over the top.Although the money would buy him a larger or two while down under. John.

Those Stadium ones don't actually sound bad, John! On a conventional bike, wind-resistance and weight are an issue, but much less so on an ebike.

You CAN cycle without a mirror, and rely on constant glances over your right shoulder to see whether you've got time to get round that parked car, or whether some massive truck is bearing down on you, but there are several of us on this forum who think mirrors are as vital as brakes! Good ones, vibration-free, could save your bacon.
