... that's the one that got away.
Am feeling OK about leaving the CA tbh as it'll be mounted and of no possible use or interest to anyone other than a DIY eBike builder. So would only be mindless vandalism like the guy whose controller got trashed recently, which would just be bad luck I guess. We only really get trouble in busy areas in the Summer when holidaymakers are down - and then I might see if the local surf school / lifeguards will let me leave the bike somewhere they can see it. They'll know whose it is so anyone else interfering will get questioned.
I've left my Kalkhoff 3 times a week for 1 1/2 hours somewhere carelessly or poorly secured bikes regularly get nicked and trashed. But properly chained up. I keep thinking my LCD isn't going to be there when I get back but without tempting fate, so far there's never been anything touched on it.
Am thinking that Turnigy might be a goodun if I am ever tempted down the slippery slope of no return to the "LiPo darkside"
eek
in the quest for more performance and capacity at the price of constant mollycoddling of batteries. I still reckon I have far too short an attention span to be trusted with a LiPo assembly and the responsibility for charging same without b*ggering them.
But .. cannot deny that as this 1st build finally takes shape and having had to get so unexpectedly introduced to the inner secrets of my motor from such an early stage in my eBike experience, the whole thing is starting to make sense. It feels a bit like finally "getting" the outline concept of The Matrix. It was inevitable that the stirrings of curiosity and imagination would start up at some point
. But so soon ? Must get a grip - still haven't finished off the 1st build - or faced up to costing out the final bill. Actually I may never look. After riding it, so long as I can keep paying the essential bills I don't care that much any more lol.
