Plod was maybe a learner as,if he believed it to be a vehicle ridden without insurance, he should have siezed it and not let you continue to ride, especially as it didnt have a number plate!
I have one of these scooters and have never seen a copper when out on it even though I have had it for 3 years now but fully expect to get stopped when I do.
I carry the sales advert with me so they can see the spec of it.
30 years in the force he said ;). I have his name and badge number and also the link from this site on my phone short cuts.

Was on cycle path of A 127 England when spotted. Accused me off riding on Pathway. After debate they agreed was a cycle path. Bike is 36 v 200 watts as out factory. When stopped I was on the road.

I will be SUING the sellers.

Weird he didn't initially do you for the more serious charge of driving while disqualified!
I think a lot depends on your attitude to the officer at the time .. Whenever I hear about unreasonable policing it is often compounded by the offenders attitude.

Stopped again. lol
If your bike has provision for a number plate you could print out and waterproof, or get a sign laminated that said Electrically Assisted Bicycle and put that on there.

I expect you will be stopped a fair bit since it looks just like a scooter. As I wrote above I knew someone who had one very like it and she was always getting stopped.

Its already got Manufacturer plate nearly as big as number plate. By law this needs to be displayed. Just a friendly chat Curiosity he said. But lights and sirens again.

It must be your area and it's police Robert. Synthman who is one of our members had one of these for a long time and only ever got stopped once. But that was only because the officer was genuinely interested wanting to know more about the model and wasn't questioning it's legality.

Maybe you need a bigger sign

Sorry, just jesting, when I was much younger (back in the 70's) I had a Honda 250, and was always getting stopped even though I had a full motorbike licence, although a bit of a pain, after a while one gets used to it.

Not a bad idea. Something like I recommended to him before. Something in big lettering that they can see.
