The only chargers I had problems with were the ones with fans. The ones without fans don't get hot, so they don't need fans.and the apparent inclusion of a cooling fan, which seems to be a desirable feature to look for in a power supply.

I wonder if their "pulse" chargers can be modified to charge to 41V? Perhaps I should mostly charge using one of these? Balance charging to 42V every so often, to extend my battery's lifespan?36v – 42v 10S – eBike Batteries

Yep - up to 60V. I'd only want 2A:its only 30v 5a you need one thats 42v or more like a lab power supply
Was the battery sat in a box for a year? If so maybe it needs a balance charge? And a battery boffin. Do both batteries contain the same cell type, are the batteries the same capacity?it has been sat in a box for well over a year but it is potted so cant check anything seems his controller is falty
Water ingress causing problems perhaps? Maybe dry the controller and the motor bullet connectors? I recently managed to dry out my Canon 650D camera using these dessicant silicone beads, time'll tell if permanent damage has been done to the camera. I should have waited a few weeks and bought the 700D, which is the same camera but weather sealedthe new motor never even had a gasket fitted to the controller
last time i looked they was like 75 quid but ppl can shunt mod them to 50a for 60 quid
