Battery suddenly empty and not charging

Hi,
I got a 17amh battery on my conversion, I’ve done about 170miles on it since I got it in April. My last ride was two weeks ago and when I returned it was about 4/5ths charged. I took it out yesterday and nothing on the screen, and a slight red blink on the battery power test button. It’s been charging all morning. 5 hours, but still nothing! This is not a cheaply put together conversion kit but came as a pack. The battery seems to have spontaneously discharged over two weeks. I don’t keep it on the bike and it hasn’t been in the cold. I paid about £300 for it! Samsung batteries. Any ideas. The charging led is green.

Less than a year old, so warranty should cover it. Any intrusive testing would jeopardise the warranty, so probably first move is talk to the suppliers.

I agree. Your battery should still be under guarantee. Get in touch with the supplier.
Green LED on the charger means the battery is full. If you have a multitester, check the voltage at the output port, it should be 41.5V.
If it is nowhere near 41.5V, then the fuse on the output port may have blown.

The timing here is important.

Have you reported, to the supplier, that the battery developed a fault within 6 months of purchase ?

I think some batteries can go into a sleep mode that is woken by a long press of the button. Have you tried this in case that's all it is?

It sounds as if the BMS (battery management system) has shut down and needs to be reset. Search on -line for e bike BMS reset.

On some kits its as simple as plug in the charger and press the 'On' button for about 20 sec.
