Hello

My husband has had a Freego Regency 16Ah bike for just over 2 years and the battery has had it. They want nearly £400 for a new one. Can anyone suggest alternatives that would be cheaper.

Also, has Freego been taken over/sold to another company? My husband rang them and asked to speak to John Heath (co-owner/founder) and was told that he was no longer there. Looking at the website the info on who owns the company hasn't changed.

Eaglerider posted on this forum recently. Has had his Freego battery recelled by Insat (who also post on here ). Upgraded to a larger capacity cheaper and lighter. Search for Insat on forum.

Thanks for your response. I would be interested to hear from Eaglerider what size battery he previously had and what size he went up to. If you are around Eaglerider?

I think he had 16ah and went to 20ah. Will see if I can find the thread for you

you can choose which cells you want, which determines how much capacity, how long the life or how much power the battery can give. The more you get, the more you pay.

John Heath is no longer with FreeGo. The company is still in the same very capable hands.

All the best, David
