Hi all,

I have a Cerrera Crosfire E around 2 years old. Not used it for a few weeks. Randomly noticed a noise coming from the battery. It’s like buzzing / vibrating noise. The battery is full and display lights up normal. The noise stopped when I pressed the battery button. Any ideas?

Well, I would be worried that the thing is going to catch fire. Could be a cell shorting, heating up and venting gas or liquid.
Leave the battery outside, somewhere where it doesn't matter if it does burn.

I had a brand new Bosch drill battery catch fire a few years back and that's exactly what preceded it, a sort of buzzing/sizzling noise.

You need to pin point exactly where the noise is, is it the battery or integrated controller that is at fault. A bad connection (shorting) can cause electrical noises and can resonate through the system.
If fault is clearly the battery then it needs opening to see/check if anything is noticeably wrong. Mean while if unsure keep the battery outside safe, a barbeque is a good place or a metal water tight box.

If cells were bad/gone bad or a bad nickel connectivity has failed somewhere then in use the voltage would collapse or LCD will simply switch off due to poor load detected by the controller.
