@matthewslack got 1000Wh a day from his solar trailer (I think)... therefore 5 times as many panels as a roof on a Piaggio Ape conversion, plus a big battery and 3kw to 5kw motor:

...might give Lightyear's solar car a run for it's money, for much less money, even under gloomy UK skies?

(might need bigger than 5kw motor)

Oh well, 3kw to 5kw will have to do then - that AliExpress motor ships with a controller.

If 5500mah each, a 5kwh pack made with these would cost about £3,913, plus BMS, solder, labour etc.

Wholesale prices might be lower?

A secondhand Ape can be about £3,934:

Motor and controller = £640.76

= a DIY EV for about £7,948? Plus labour, solar panels and associated parts, delivery taxes etc.

but you have no idea if the cells are good or not or even fake reraps when you get this stuff from china you take a gamble it could be good or not only time will tell but as it is one of the most expensive parts there are more fakes than real ones.

:D

A small EV running on 48v, one would use those EVE LFP modules the 280ah ones would make a 14kwh battery for £2250 + bms or the 105ah for 5kwh /£950 +bms.

With 5kwh = £4,985 or with 14kwh = £6,285 + BMS + solar panels + all sorts of other things, for a Piaggio Ape conversion to EV, with solar panel support. It's easy to see how Citreon are making a profit with the AMI - I'd much rather attempt this EV conversion: not a closed system with product and service ecosystem, battery can be swapped with a larger one for very long journeys, camp while it solar charges to return home... If it was a bike, it could be sponsored by @Woosh and @Wisper Bikes ... ; sport billboard adverts and make recorded "Woosh" and "Wisper" sounds as it rolled along, voiced by a young Marlene Dietrich.

we got the motors we not got the power :(
We could power it like a Scalextric and break the land speed record, if it didn't lift-off/disintegrate first... which is likely, even with adaptive aero.
