Battery for rear carrier

Hi my name is John I own a Kudos tornado ebike , I am really happy with this bike but I would like to move the battery from the front tube to a rear rack the controller is on the rear tube so I think the cable for the battery will reach , just need advise on which flat battery to buy , any advice would be appreciated.

Why do you want a rear battery ?

Purely for aesthetic reasons really I can probably hide it in a rear carrier bag. The battery that’s on now just looks bulky and out of place, it’s just me.

You'll probably find the bike handles better with the battery where it is than either on a rack or pannier.

I've just fitted my rack mount battery, its a big lump of a thing and the weight distribution feels odd. For transparency I've only ridden it about two miles so it may be that I just need to get used to it.

I'd planned to fit a tripod clip and a case for my camera gear but I think its going to make the rear load to great so it will be back to the backpack.

Early days but I reckon a downtube mount might have been better for me.

I will of course invoke the rights of cognitive dissonance and not worry about it

Some bikes handle better then others with a rear rack battery.
My Boardman has a downtube battery (522wh) and a 974wh self build battery I use in a top bag to me the handling is good , it is only awkward when pushing the bike at times or at low speed on more technical terrain. With a rear battery it needs to be as low to the wheel as possible and mounted as near to the seat tube as possible this helps to stop the tail wagging.
I also have a similar set up on the Swizzbee 420 wh (half the weight) and no issues.

My current temporary setup meets neither requirement but tomorrow I will remedy that, the rack is sitting way too high and a long way back on the 'standard' brackets. Still, its a fair bit of load on my back wheel, exacerbated by the dead weight sitting on the seat ;-)

I reckon some strategically placed foam tape is also going to be needed to stop any rattles between battery and carrier.

If you can change the battery rack position you should notice the change in handling.

Putting your camera gear in panniers will usefully lower the centre of gravity.
