Battery Dilemma

Hiya all,
I have an ezee conversion kit and a 48v battery (not ezee) which is coming up to 5 years old now.
Back in Oct I busted up my ankle and could do very little walking, so instead I have been riding everywhere on electric power and a little peddling.

The battery has done 1000's of miles since I bought it new and has been faultless.
I checked the voltage back in Oct and it was 54.3v when fully charged. I checked this morning and the voltage has dropped to 53.1v, so it's starting to degrade rapidly.

My dilemma is that I have a new ebike on order but it won't be delivered until June/July and I'm a bit reluctant t spend out on a new battery for the current bike, although I will still use it for local stuff, popping into town etc

So is it safe to continue using it and hope that it lasts for 4-5 more months? Or should I just replace it with another cheepo £200 eBay battery?
It's still giving me reasonable range. Today I did 8 miles at an average speed of 15mph mostly on battery alone and it was at 47.5v when I returned home.

I welcome your advice

It will be prefectly safe to continue using the battery as long as you want. If it still has the range you need for local running around, seems pointless to get a new battery. You may find the range improves a little as the temperture rises. If you don't already, try and charge it indoors at room temp, as this may help a little.

Would you have any idea at what low voltage the BMS is likely to cut power?
I usually run it down to 47v which leaves 2 battery lights left. Just wondering how much further it would go if I ran it right out.
I know it varies from battery to battery though.

LVC is usually between 41-43v on a 48v battery, but you may find those last 2 bars disappear fairly quickly with voltage sag if your battery is beginning to show it's age. Test it out close to home so you don't have too far to cycle unassisted. BTW what's the new bike you've got on order?

Cool, hope it goes OK, I'm a fatty fan, bikes that is, hope the tyre rumble is bearable, unlike my 4.8's on tarmac, I've considered ear defenders,o_Obut fine once you hit the muddy stuff.
