There are many types of battery connections on the market and I believe the XT60 is very popular, but what do others think?

It depends what you want and need. I always use Deans, which are easy to attach and can handle up to at least 30 amps.

I use XT90s as that is what my batteries come with (Multistars).

XT60s every day of the week, they handle 30 Amps fine too. I have soldered them to all my batteries (including Li-ion), Watt meter, controllers... Everything is plug and play. I use the ones with built in insulation.

Negatives:
They are hard to solder to very thick silicon wire so buy more than you need in case you melt one.
