I am lucky, I can recharge at work for free. When I have to recharge at home I connect the charger to my solar battery and recharge from the sun.
Would you believe that in these days of very high British electricity bills, there are over 5,300 charging points for electric cars that are completely free:

Zap Map Link

Not only that, our e-car charging at home can be at only 5 pence per unit by using the car's built in charge timers to charge in off-peak hours:

It's an unfair world, those rich enough to afford e-cars get the benefits.

Wheezy start a new thread regarding what is required, parts needed etc and recommended parts for a solar charge set up for ebike batteries. I know for sure it would interest me and what with matts solar trailer ride, it may peak interest for a few others to have ago.
As long as Guerney can control his desire to spam all threads with rubbish it should be worth starting.
If you like I will start the thread and sensible peeps can add proper informative detail from there knowledge base, without the cut and paste from utube and other useless sources which I mostly hate.

I think you're oversensitive about anything to do with computers, I like oddness and occasional Youtube interludes. A man can't live on bread alone and all that. I was moving computer stuff onto another thread but won't now. Just go with the flow? Talking just shop is no fun. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

There is an "Ignore" function you can use @Nealh - until I'm banned, I will continue to post as I have been doing.

The only way you'll get a completely focused thread, is by starting a Wordpress blog of your own, and rejecting comments.

Problem is it puts folks off when thread go way off tangent with nonsense.
Then we start to loose some good knowledgable posters or they don't bother to post much.

I only have one person on ignore.

Well, you are free to add me to that ignore list - I'm certainly not interested in being moderated by you or anyone else. I expect someone will ban me sometime or other... so until then!

Yes, the smoke/fumes will kill you while a sleep should something go awry. One should only charge when an eye can be kept on them for safety's sake.

Is it bad that I leave my battery to charge overnight.
Yes it is! It could get you burned to death! I use @Andy-Mat 's tip ie a mechanical timer, although I must admit I once left it on for over 24 hours, so that it started charging a second time - best avoid doing that too. I never leave it charging while I'm asleep. And never unattended.

There's nothing wrong in my opinion posting links to instructional videos on Youtube or elsewhere, if they contain knowledge which is useful for the task at hand - for instance, when you were attempting to install your TSDZ firmware, I linked a few... it's shorthand. Some people learn by seeing. Insisting that everyone type up every point laboriously is a big ask, and one is lucky if anyone takes the time to do it. I did for your TSDZ2 project, because I realised there was no other way to aid you getting it working. And because despite this forum seemingly teeming with computer geeks, not many others were. But what seems like organised infomation to me, won't necessarily appear as the same to someone else. We all learn differently, or have our preferences. Dismissing external links out of hand, is incorrect - if they are offered as providing relevant information. But that's my view.

Great. I shall assume that's me. I expect other computer geeks will be available.

If certain people leave, it's to grow a thicker skin.
You certainly need a thick skin for the internet, where some mild mannered people can become quite fearsome!

ES has some knowledgeable folks and some grandee's who know it all and have been there.
Some of the responses to the lesser knowledgale folks esp with programming and battery issues on the big threads can be quite poor, because they know the answer and to them it is easy to fault find or find the answer.
A typical answer is look on the web there are plenty of film clips of how to etc, etc, problem is for some is knowing what is good or bad advice.
