Battery Cell Replacements

Anyone know were you can purchase battery cells to refurb yourself? And info on how to identify the cells you are replacing?

Any info would be appreciated

(complete novice but willing to have a go)

Hi, thanks for the reply. The battery is off some sort of early A2B bike. On takeing off the red plastic the following is on the cell.
NH8734
035178
and on the bottom = 28M3
I will also be after some of the shaped metal plate that goes over a battery section.
I have a spot welder and just want to have a go and gain a little experiance

You can find the nickel strip on Aliexpress, where you see the spotwelders. You can use any type of 18650 cells, though I recommend that you stick with the high discharge Sony, Panasonic, Samsung or LG ones. Turmich on Endless-Sphere has recycled Ones from Bosch batteries that are pretty good.

I rebuilt my A2B battery with samsung cells from Turmich and its great. Are you going to use the battery on another A2B bike?

I bought nickel strip here in the UK on ebay, and the cells I bought from nkon. Nkon's been very good at responding to questions and delivering swiftly. Here are the cells bought for my pack.

Have not made my mind up what battery to have a go at yet. Bought two dead ones off a guy for £25, I had asked for a dead metro internal battery and he sent me two old style metro externals so if i had a go at them i would have nothing to test it on as i have an octave with a magnetic conection not the screw type.
I have a shima with a throttle fitted and that battery has done 3,500 miles and is starting to get a little tired but is still useable and good for a full power blast if i don't go far.
Just got 12 samsung 18650 high discharge cells off alliexpres and some nickel strip so will make my mind up soon.
So yes one way or another it will be for an A2B.
