Battery cell question (where to buy)

I've decided to build my own 14S (52V) pack from either LG HG2 or Samsung 30Q cells to drive my BBSHD.

Where is the best place to buy a large quantity of cells (either 56 to make 14S4P or 70 to make 14S5P) to ensure they are genuine cells? I'm scared to death of getting fakes.

 

Oh, and what BMS would you recommend for that pack?

Also consider 3100mah VTC6.

 

For BMS I use ann/annpower supplier on Aliexp.

Nkon are also the cheapest in many cases for guaranteed origin cells and you get an EU consumer protection guarantee of course...

The Neptune15 from Speedict is my favorite BMS. If your going to the trouble of building a battery from scratch it's well worth it.

Unlike the speedict bms you can't short charge as the bms will not balance the cells correctly usually balancing occurs near the end of the charge above 4.15v.

Thanks. Bagged the 40A Annpower one.

Annpower BMS is only 30 amp, which will work as long as you don't pull max. amps for too long. It's always good practice to have a buffer so components are working under their max. capability.

The 30a one would have been ok as well.

I never stop at the product description and always scroll down for item specs, if their not listed or not to my liking I move on.

Quality/performance of the Annpower stuff is reliable as is their Nickel for welding, if it say's pure Ni then it is.

Thanks for all the help. First job is to build my spot welder. I was going to use those Vruzend weldless things but I didn't spot the 3.5A max per cell until after I ordered the damn things. Oh well, I'm sure they'll be useful for something else. Maybe a small Q128C commuter next year.
