Hi All,

I have a battery from 2020 which has become unreliable, i'm pretty sure the problem is that the connectors (4 rectangular pins) are corroded.

The battery case has already had the power switch disabled and the charger port replaced twice so i think its time for a new case.

I think the case is a Hailong type but its hard to be certain, its also a very tight fit in there as well so i'm hoping for an upgrade and a slightly larger case.
(The current one holds cells for 48v 17Ah and is 360 x 100 x 80mm in size)

Can anyone recommend a decent case that is waterproof or just good quality?

Surely easier to replace pins and improve waterproofing, and provide additional protection from weather?

Honestly, it didnt occur to me to just replace the pins!

Whats the best way of protecting the battery? I have seen neoprene covers but since they cannot wrap around the mount itself they must be open at the back so it will never be a great seal.
Is it worth just using dielectric grease or even just WD40 to protect the pins going forward?

The pins burn when you connect the battery with the battery switched on. Always switch off the battery when you put it on the bike. If you can't switch it off because you've hard- wired the switch, leave the battery on the bike when you charge it or fix the switch.
