Hi Flecc and thanks once again for bringing a touch of reality to some silly idea’s

It is though a battery pack that I want as a top up for my “towing” bike and I also want to build up a MTB with a carbon fibre frame I have. So a Box type will be ideal.

Anyhow after searching around I have come up with some that may be OK and if anyone knows any just impediment why the may not be joined to my bike etc,etc

First one is from German Ebay a 36v lifeP04 at 9ah
It’s in a box and there will be no customs problems/
Emailed for more info. Like the looks of this one.
36V 9 Ah Fahrradakku Lithium-Eisen-Phosphat (LiFePO4) bei eBay.de: Fahrräder (endet 14.01.10 15:31:20 MEZ)

The other is from the USA
Looks a monster of a battery from Foxx power, good price though a bit heavy
Have emailed for info on chargers

Foxx Power LiFePo4 36v 10a Battery on eBay (end time 01-Feb-10 06:19:25 GMT)

Next one is a Li-on from Sunlova kit, they will sell the battery separate and that’s £200
With a charger.
New Electric Bicycle Conversion Kit E-Bike Kit-SL26EK36 on eBay (end time 24-Jan-10 12:40:43 GMT)

Getting a bit spoiled for choice now.:D

Germany is fairly unique outside China and Japan in manufacturing large lithium batteries, even the high quality BionX battery is made there, so that one is probably ok.

The two lithium iron phosphate ones are not quite as enthusiastic where current delivery is concerned but they do last longer. At moderate currents they should last around three years, possibly longer with light usage.

The Sunlova Li-ion could be better at delivering high currents but probably will not last longer than two years and could last less if used very regularly or with high current deliveries.

Alienocean use to sell matteries too but I am not sure if he sells them unless you buy a kit.

Just checked they are a bit more

PS two of my home made ones in parallel would give you a 36v 4.6Ah battery. About £60 for the packs each and £10 for the charger.

I am still testing but hopefully they won't need balancing if they do, you will need another £40 balance/charger.

Details here

Yep, he is one spoiled dog.
We go away in the caravan quite a lot and it would not be fair leaving him in the kennels at his age. Did it once and he did not eat for 4 days.
Got to admit camping without the dog isn’t a lot of fun. Even did one of the mtb routes in dalby forest with him in the trailer, got some very strange looks though but didn’t get stuck once.
The City Thunder has been a good buy, there was one on here with 2 batteries for sale some time ago and a real pity I missed it as my Mrs wants one now !!

Battery from Germany looks a good bet but I did not realise the exchange rate was so bad. Cost about £230 and they may want postage on top, Mr Ping may be getting a call yet just scared of a loading on the price from HM Customs.
