anyway my next job is to replace the crappy 890 display so if anyone knows what i can fit easily instead ideally with battery %, and watts being used but I don't want HR or GPS - so something nice a cheap that will plug in easily

10 miles come on, more like 18 - 25 on flat ground I reckon if you leave the throttle alone. I'm sure you will let us know.

I was just trying to keep my expectations low so that I don't get let down and if anything get a nice surprise. its nice a sunny today - so I will be able to test it. Keep in mind that this is a very heavy rig and I am also moving my daughters legs too (the trailer has a fixed wheel)- she has high muscle tone cerebral palsey.

I use it by switching off pedal assist on the flat and downhill (and I noticed this puts a little charge back in - on the SLa's) and I only use power on incline, low mostly but high for steep sections coming up out of subways

This is the battery I don't know much about it other than the amps and volts.

Your motor cannot put any significant charge back into the battery. What you see is sagging battery voltage when you use the motor. The voltage drops in proportion to the amount of current you take from it so you see it going down when you use power and it goes back up when you freewheel down a hill because it's ot providing any power.

that explains it thanks.

Jjust did 9.1 miles steady avg 6.1mph and got home with 3/4 led on the display and the same on the battery, but I don't know if I am at 74% or 51% hence why I need a different display, mind you its that same on my bosch purion!

So I am very pleased with the new battery it amazing compared to the SLA batteries

I have fitted in the basket sticking out slightly

Excellent, glad all is going well with the new battery. I'm sure you'll post some time when you have a better idea of how much you will really get out of it. Modern batteries don't need to be near discharge before recharge, so perhaps you'll never find out (I'm still unsure on a couple of bikes we've had for 8 months and 5 months)

If you have a multi meter, the resting voltage can give you a rough guide to remaining capacity of your battery. Using the range between 42-32v, each volt as roughly 10%. So 36v would leave you 40% remaining, not exact but more acurate than most battery indicators.

For the display you will have to tell us the controller maker.

Glad you are pleased with the new battery li-on is always going to be superior to SLA and looks like the range will be a lot better then you anticipated. My guestimate I don't think will be far out and may still be a bit conservative.

KT-LCD3 would be the most common choice.

Before you order the LCD make sure the julet connector has the correct mating on it.
