I ordered a kit from BMSBattery and told them that I wanted a Bafang 250w front hub-motor for disc brake. They told me by email that this one is for disc brake, but it isn't so I can't use it. I even marked up my order "Please make sure motor is for disc brake". I'm trying to sort it out at the moment, but it's likely that I'll be selling it on if anybody's interested.
What I can say about it is that it's very small and light. The whole wheel with motor only weighs 2.7kg. It must be lighter than a Tongxin and is a lot lighter than a Cute100. The axle is very thin as it's round (no flats). It relies on a single built-in tab washer thingy to counter the torque and then only the tightness of the nuts.
It should make our "Fun Prevention Officers" on this site happy because I can't see it breaking too many speed limits.

Thats the same motor I used to have before changing for a rear motor.
Good little motor although a bit weak and had limited hill climbing ability. But generally never even noticed it on the front.

Shame they don;t make a rear one to go with it. Would make a nice dual motor setup.
Scotty did yours have the round shaft too.

26". Black with silver where the brakes would rub. Looks nice. Anybody can have the whole kit for £175, which is what I paid for it. Send me a PM if your interested. Then I can buy a new kit with a disc brake motor.

Very quiet. A higher pitch noise than the bpm which is a deeper noise but generally no noise at all that I would say is that auduible.
You notice noise on a front motor a bit more as the sound isn't trying to catch you up which is probably why is seems a higher pitched noise. Probably due to the Doppler effect.

In anycase it was a great little stealthy motor that was super easy instal and light.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that this one would be impossible to bodge, but it would be really tricky because of the shape of the hub on that side. Anyway, this one's for a friend and I think he's looking for a "professional" job!
