To my knowledge nobody has combined a rear mounted motor with an internal Nexus hub gear system....the Bafang motor already has a gear system to increase the torque, essential when only 250 watts is available,it must be possible to make that gear system adjustable ( maybe only 3 steps would be necessary).
This would put the motor in the rear,at the moment to use the Shimano Nexus system you need to fit the motor in the front, not my preferred choice.
This would also offer rear motor without using derailleurs, not liked by some.
It would offer a very simple installation.
It could be an auto change.
If the battery and controller were also combined this would reduce the number of wire connected elements, increasing reliability.

There's the odd hub motor on the market with two internal gears for the motor only, achieved by running the motor in two directions.

There was also a Bionx version that had a three speed SRAM hub gear included that was only for the rider, since the motor is direct drive.

But width is usually a problem for any hub motor with multiple gears usable by both motor and rider, even the two speed one being on the wide side. The alternative of a motor surrounding the gear hub to keep the width down will be very large diameter and have drive complexities.

Ultimately it isn't worth it, since riders need multiple gears to handle all terrains efficiently, while the motors only need two to cover the legal speeds range, possibly three at most for S class e-bikes.
