Hello

I recently fitted a Bafang mid drive unit and had a new battery pack built.

All was going great then this week it's started playing up.

Here's whats happening:-

It is reluctant to power up, sometimes 1st time some times after 5 or 6 tries, including powering the battery down.

It's reluctant to power down on the button requiring a battery switch off.

Often when riding it will self select walk assist. This can be fixed by manually switch back.

Sometimes when standing it will self select walk assist and set of on its own.

I have checked all of the cables and joints,

When riding once the display showed all correct but there was no power to the motor.

The motor is a 36v 500w and the display is the C961.

Has anyone any suggestions as to whats happening please. Is this a faulty unit?

Did you fix the cables with cable-ties, pulled too tight?

Another suggestion is to take the battery off and disconnect all the plug in waterproof cables. Reconnect them all, ensuring they are correctly aligned with the arrows on each plug. Then put battery back on and power up.

Cable ties yes, but slack left on them.

I did notice this morning there was come condensation under the glass. I guess this can't be good?

I have placed it in a bag of rice and sealed it ip tight.

Water in the display would cause exactly what you experienced.
