Bafang mid-drive not running well

I've just fitted a new stator and controller to my Bafang BBS02B after various error code problems. It runs well on a temporary thumb throttle, but is surging when I pedal. Can anyone advise?

Have you got a programming cable? Perhaps you need to adjust "Start Current" and/or "Slow-start Mode"?

First, check out the pedal sensor connector in the controller compartment. If that's not it, you'll have to look at the pedal sensor itself and its wires.
