Howdy! You will find attached a diagram that reproduces 2 ways to connect the bafang motor to the battery. This is a mid engine. Tell me if the 2 possibilities are passable or which is the best. Thanks.

Hi barbe

Strictly speaking the battery connects to the controller. But as I also have bbs middrive I totally appreciate the controller is bolted to the side of the motor

Pedantry aside now ! I think you are asking is an xt60 connector ok?

Yes is the answer I use them on all my bikes so I can swap batteries between my bikes. All use 36v and all use xt60 be it haillong , homebuilt or lipo

Cheers

KirstinS thank for your help! But tell me, Don't you think it's possible without XT60 and dirctly connect the cable from the controller to the battery. That's what I want to know for sure.more precisely to the support of the battery.

It's useful to be able to remove the battery from the bike. A Hailong battery clips into its holder, and it can be removed without needing to disconnect the cable, so a connector on the battery cable is pointless. I wouldn't fit one. Instead, I'd solder the battery wires directly to the motor wires. If ever you want to change to a different type of battery, you can always cut the wires or unsolder them. It's cheaper, quicker and more reliable to solder the wires directly than to solder connectors (XT60) onto the wires.

That's what I wasn't sure! Directly solder the wire between the support of the battery and the controller. I did that (A). But I encountered problems with the engine slowing down without warning and without leaving the pedelec.Believing wrongly that my branch A was involved, I changed the wiring from A to B, with xt60. Unfortunately the problem of the unexplained slowdown is not solved and I am told that it is surely the controller! Why would this electronic piece die after 500 km of road? Thanks vfr400, your answer for the cable connection is the one I hoped for!!! Can you tell me something about the controller ?

The problem is in the setup of the motor controller ,probably the display motor pas settings etc , suggest you buy the programme cable and adjust the settings with a laptop
The factory settings are a lottery some ok others terrible

I'm not sure that programming will solve your problem. you mentioned in another thread that the motor was buzzing. can you describe your problem in more detail?

ha yes vfr400, you're right. This buzzing was a too large chain! I changed for a better size!
but I am very doubtful that a reprogramming of my controller will solve the slowdown which I experienced when the pedelec is working regularly. these slowdown occur for 2-3 seconds and I lose 2-3 km/h.
I can't overcome this problem!

peter c is there! thanks! I have ordered a usb programming cable and I will receive it between the end of october and end november. But will you be there at this time to show me what settings it would be necessary to change?

the seller told me that my battery 36V 11.6A could be the Reason, that it would be better to have a 15A. hem...

when this slowdown occurs, if I cut the assistance, the ebike instead of freewheel, brakes.

Your battery will be 11.6 amp hours (ah not a). This is how much capacity it has . This directly affects your range

Your controller is 15a (amps not amp hours) rated (I'm assuming) that's how much power it needs and gives to the motor.

Yes you can solder direct too. I only use xt60 so I can easily swap different types of battery

it's a mid-drive! that's why I am very embarrassad to understand the slowdown...
