bafang error motor fault?

Hello.
I am wondering if anyone is able to help me.
I have a bafang bbs02 motor on my bike.
it came up with an error code er4
then gave up on me.
I have taken the battery or and put it back on again and it has no error code but the motor is not working on the throttle or on pedaling assistance.
I have messaged the chap I got the motor from but have not had a reply Off him.
I am wondering if anyone is able to give me some advice of what to do

so it was a throttle problem?
I am a little lost now though as the error code has gone but the motor is still not working.
I will take the throttle apart tomorrow and see if anything is loose.

You will need to unplug the throttle connection to confirm it is faulty.

are you saying if i disconnect throttle it Should work on pedaling?

We won't know until you have tried it, a process of elimination also make sure your battery is charged.
Once you have done that the next option is to check the brake cut offs if you are using them and all the wiring is all intact checking all connections.

Sadly taking the throttle off made no difference. Still no response from pedaling. I have undone all cables then put them back together and still noting.

I would have thought that if anything was wrong. The display would say or something?
I still have not had a reply from who I got the motor off. So I have opened a dispute with PayPal.
so I hope they will get a reply from him.

I would reiterate what Nealh says. You need to test by process of elimination.

Personally, given what you have said, I would unplug the brake cutoff as the first test. Then check pas and throttle with cutoffs unplugged

I don't know if your LCD would show a fault if one of the cutoffs is stuck on. It might just assume you are pulling the brake.

I never put the brake leavers that came on it as they are for cable brakes and mine are hydraulic. I did tape up the ends so no water could get in them.
My limited experience is running out of what to eliminate next.
Everything worked fine until this er4 came up then nothing. I have rolled the bike back a little and it turns the motor too. It's a little stiff but I am not sure how tight or loose it should be. ?

There were a few on ES who had probs with BBS02 750w can't be sure but I think there was a fault with them could have been the fets blowing. You could try there for help.

hi.just to update.
I still have had no reply from bafang about any help of any sort. I'm a little miffed off to day the least.
I think just to get me up and running again I will get a Hub motor.
hasanyone used the vpower hk ones on ebay?
The 1000w are £171 but the cyclotricity ones are £249.
Is there a massive difference between the two?

I have enough for either. Just.
but I am going to be wanting to resell it once the bafang motor is sortedso what is best as a motor and as resell value?
