Morning All,
Could anyone point me in the right direction of some quick release connectors I could use for a back pack battery. The connections I would need would be the following :-

3 Pin Connector for Phase Wires to Motor
3 Pin Connector for the throttle

I would need them to be quick release. I can solder etc I would like something suitable from say maplins. Has anyone done this?

It needs to be fairly robust really as I would be clipping and upclipping quite frequently.

Team Hybrid e-bike and mobility company ran the Team Hybrid e-bike stunt team for a while.

They used BMX bikes with Crystalyte motors and easily disconnected backpack batteries, so it could be worth asking what they used:

Connections will be enclosed in the back pack. An I try not to ride in the rain if I can help it.
I'm a fair weather rider!

I'll ask that team. Alan from Just1bike Suggested Anderson connectors.

A lot of people in here use Anderson Powerpole connectors, but I don't know how convenient they are to quickly detach.

Ok I managed to create a back pack with a battery that sits in the bottom a controller that's in one of he rear pockets. I've hard wired it currently to see how I get on with it tomorrow since I finished my wheel.

It looks as though I'll have to extend the phase wires to make it ok to move around on the bike with out the connections pulling straight out. I'll let you know my progress!

O know the connections are ropey at best but hopefully it will give me an idea of what I need to make it work.

I've done the same as you - mounting the battery pack and controller in a rucksack. I originally did it as a temporary measure but I'm going to keep it that way as I think the 8.5kg battery pack is better there as a central and sprung weight than strapped over my back wheel.
It's also pretty convenient, just plug two sockets in and away I go. I had to change the plugs from standard and extend some of the wires from the controller but that was it.
The only downside to the set up is a sweaty back...

Used it this morning and had to extend the straps on my backpack so it would sit lower.
This is becasue the phase wires really are not long enough to be comfortable. I really cannot stand up either to pedal and the wires are kind of all over the place.

However the extra weight is by the by and it feels much much better than having the rear rack and battery over the rear wheel.

I'll have to get some proper connections and solder them in correctly. Today was a tempory measure to see how I got on with it.

I will have to extend the Phase wires as those are the ones limiting my movement currently but It shouldn't really be an issue. More than likly extend from the controller by adding some more wire and that way I can fix the phase wires to the frame of the bike and then pull the extra wire out of the bag when I need to connect it up.

What I really like about the setup though is being able to swap from electric to standard bike relativly quickly and not having a rear rack to muddle about with.

Stag weekend this weekend so I'll update you on my progress over the next week...

Ps. Thank you for all your helpful posts on connections and what you currently use either privatly or commercial. They have been a big help.

Evening all,
Used a few of the links you all suggested and finished soldering and adding quick release connections. Also brought 15meters of 10amp wire to extend the connections from the back pack.

Neatened and cut all the wires and added power pole connectors. All good and connects quickly and releases nicely. Hopefully this will help the balance of the bike.
I've added a few pictures for reference.

Sorry took pictures using phone

Now all I need to do is fix my battery as it is no longer charging. I suspect the Bms has died since it still allows me to draw power.
