Thanks Steve - getting nearer to me in London but just over an hours drive or two on the train. Still surprised about the lack of dealer coverage in London though...

Just spoken to ETS in Cambridge but they haven't got one nor do they think they are getting one in London.
I wonder if that is because neither David nor the Cambridge staff can get through on the phone and calls aren't being returned?

joking aside I think they really need to sort this out.

Potential sales of thousands are being lost here, not just to one company to the whole industry IMO.

When 40-60 hour work weeks are common amongst the populace and people expect almost a 24 hour business day, it looks like someones running the business as a hobby if they are only "open" 3 days a week :(

I'm not suggesting people should work excessive long hours - its not healthy nor safe for workers and customers alike in safety criticial roles like bike mechanics, but at least use technology to ensure the phones are picked up and messages acted on..

Great but a bit of a way to go from North London and there are two dealers in London and even one on the North side.....are you going to have a look? Less of a trek for you.
I want to try one but away on holidays next week so no time. Have a look on wisper website and try some other dealers. But I would ring E Bikes direct and see if they have one as a demo......They have been very good to me in the past so probably worth the trip out of London a bit;) ;)

I am aware that I am banging on about this but I think London is a lucrative market and there seems to be just two shops. One is only open part time and the other is little more than an internet/warehouse shop (although I didn't realise that until after paying them a visit). Apparently they only do viewings by appointment - not that it explains that on the internet. Anyway Ali in Biccicletta always answers the phone and is very helpful.

Maybe it has become too expensive to do business in London and Ali said as much (unless you are selling food that is).

Hi Harry

You can always come to my house in Sevenoaks and borrow mine, however you would need to buy through a dealer.

Both Powarider and E Bikes direct have them available, Douglas is trying to make contact with ETS now. They are taking a demo bike on Monday.

Best regards

David

ETS have three outlets - London, Cambridge and Oxford so preferably they would need 3. To be selfish Cambridge is better for me as I am on that line but I would prefer London. Thanks for the Sevenoaks offer - wrong side of London again and you are not far from Tunbridge so if I am in that direction I have plenty of choice.

ps I have a dealer all lined up (but no bike).

Sorry Harry but I dont have a lot of sympathy for you. 2 dealers just south of M25 have these bikes on demo. Probably an hour or so from you. I have flown to Germany/Cyprus/Sweden to buy stuff before now, what is it? work commitments? ETS seem to be their own worse enemy, I have found them really good in the past... my original wisper came from them. its a shame, you would think the owner would get a mobile number to pass around amongst the staff so they can be contacted! they must be dying a slow death......

I am not after sympathy - that is not my point. Having bought my last bike from Winchester I know all about the travelling and what it is like getting a bike repaired - it takes the best part of a day to get to Winchester and back (make that two half days if the bike has to be left). I don't want a repeat of that and one of the reasons for thinking about the Wisper was the local support. I am just amazed that a) no bikes are being delivered to London and b) there seems to be a lack of communication about where the bikes are going.

Harry

Imagine us poor buggers in Oz who like UK-only product like the e-Motions and Kalkhoffs and Wispers. No one locally here. I purchased my Bionx from NYC and ship it back there ofr repairs. Eeek! (Think there may be a Wisper in NZ but they are mad those Kiwi's and we don't like to head over there lest we be mugged by a rabid sheep).

Yes you would want something reliable. Some of my bikes have gone back to the dealer 4 or 5 times (luckily they were reasonably local) mostly for motor faults. Batteries caused me big problems but at least they could be shipped if they were identified as the problem. In the end with my Ezee Torq I bought a back to base warranty but would still lose the bike for a month. Electric bikes have been so unreliable that I sometimes wonder if they are worth the bother

Anthony at ElectricbikesNZ in Whakatane, south-east of Auckland is very sane. As well as being a retailer, he's also the Wisper agent for the whole region so will be happy to be of service to you in Australia.

Sane?

Thanks Flecc and Hi Tex,

Sane? A box of frogs has nothing in Anthony!! :D

Actually he is a great asset and a very nice and helpful bloke! :)

We will have Wisper bikes in most towns and cities in Oz by the Spring (September) 2010. Until then Anthony will look after you from NZ.

All the best

David

Hi Guys

The 906xc Tourers are in customs I believe, if not they will be on Monday, the Alpinos will be here in four weeks.

If anyone is thinking of purchasing either a 906xc Tourer or an Alpino model, it would be worth reserving one, we only have a couple of hundred coming in on these first containers and demand is already high.

All the best

David
David - do you know if the Alpinos have been shipped and if so when you expect them to arrive?
