Communication error means code issue. Lcd and controller are mismatched.

No, turned out to be the walking throttle which had water/moisture in it. To be honest, I didn't even check it as I had forgotten that I had one !

The King Meter & Controller were both straight swaps/like for like from Kudos so I know they were the correct parts
