Anyone running alloy forks with front hub motors?

Hey so I have moved my kit over to my specialised sirrus and damn the brakes on it are amazing can really feel the V brakes compared to my previous calipers and they stop it really well.

However the guy at the local bike shop who filled and fitted the motor for me has told me that the forks are strong alluminium forks designed for hybrids and MTBS.

Has anyone else run alloy forks with fronthubs motors?

My bike is a specialised sirrus fairly old that was gifted to me and the motor is a 250w cyclotricity fronthub kit. Takes me to about 20 mph with hard pedelling.

Yes, Cyclotricity 250 with a torque arm since June 2013. No problems so far.

It's OK as long as the first washer or nut sits concentrically within the dimple. In no way must it overlap the dimple. It's always a good ide to fit a torque arm to a fixed mounting point, like the disc caliper mounting screw.

Bike shop guy fitted the torque washers that were supplied with the kit.

Torque arm, not torque washers!

I run a Carrera with Ezee front hub. No problems but, as D8veh says, I have a torque arm fitted. Caliper posts are on thr rear of my fork, so made a bracket, also designed by D8veh.

For 2 years I have been running 350w bpm @ 20a in Suntour ali forks with a t/a on each side. As long as you secure every thing nicely should present little issue.
As d8veh has said fit at least one t/a as well as the a/r washers other wise you could end up with a face plant if the ali drop outs crack and give way.

I have run my Trekking bike with Rock Shox fork for over 7500km now and it works like a charm. Has a similar torque arm but a separate fastener around the fork leg. 250W motor.
