Anybody had this battery problem?

Elifebike on Ebay are selling (10s, 5p) 14.5ah Panasonic PF (10a cell ) battery for £240 delivered from German warehouse no import tax via DHL. Luna use PF's instead of 29E's for their superior performance.
The battery and base unit which is metal and plastic should sit nicely on a down tube as the base has a concave profile, though it is quite long at 435mm.

Yes, the battery I mentioned is no longer available.
That one probably uses Samsung 26F which are only a poor to mediocre cell, ok for low power. For 15- 20a they will be ok for about 12 - 18mnths then capacity goes down quite a bit.

Not sure if Elifeshop 2012 is a sister company of Elifebike/PSWPower or not.
The two batteries offer higher capacity but the reason they are not over £300 is the cells again are low amp rated.
LG F1L 4.7a and the Sam 33G 6.4a.
Very few high capacity cells can give high amp output as well, and those that can manage both are more expensive like Sam 30Q, Sanyo GA , Sony VT5 & LG MF1.

It boils down to the power of the kit you want to match the battery to and the use the bike is intended for, then you can decide whether to go with pucker cells or a lesser cell.

I appreciate your advice.
My commute is a 9 mile round trip and I can guarantee I will never have a motor bigger than both my 250 watt front wheels, I've no need for more power or to go faster (I have a 1000 watt rear wheel that I quickly changed to a 250 watt because I got scared :)).

One of my problems could be that I charge my battery 6 days a week because I'm pretty sure if I didn't, I wouldn't make the 4.5 miles to work the next day where I have a spare charger) so I just put it on charge when I get home.

I'm after a bigger capacity battery that I won't have to charge as much and will power my 250 watt motors.

Both my bottle batteries that are failing are 36v9ah so I've never had a long distance.

Charge both up to the same voltage and connect them in parallel if you can carry both on the bike, you may get a nice surprise... I use my "tired" 10.4 Ah bottle battery in parallel with a "10 Ah" LiPo battery now.

Quite a useful suggestion from AK, my two Oxydrive celled batts are now both a bit tired 22F & 26F cells and on their own show it but by paralleling them in use they are better.

For you 9 mile route and not de-restricting the 29E celled 10s 5p battery is still a reasonable battery with a max rating of 43.5a for a lower budget @ 14.5ah should see a 45mile range. The 33G will also be ok and will have better range, though I would say limit it to 15A with no de- restriction. As seen the stated max rating is 34a so shows that it is not as good a cell in the power stakes as the 29E though will give more range.

The first is a 5p dolphin and the second a 6p whale which has another 10 cells a bigger case and heavier, the 6p will suffer less battery sag over the 5p due to the extra cell in parallel.
If you want long range 50 miles + and have hills to climb and can afford it then go for the whale.
The cells are 8.7a rated so better then the F1L & 33G.
