Thanks Gray, that's certainly interesting and a potentially better quick removable drive than the powered integrated wheels. Perhaps too expensive though, might as well buy an e-bike for the £1500 to add to one's unpowered bike.

My god they are delivering! I first saw this in 2015. I like the concept, not the price but it is German and only costs a bit more than the price of a Rohloff...

yes I agree with you. Too expensive for me, but have seen the odd thread on here regarding similar requirements to what if offers. May be just right for someone

Hard to see how it could compete with a Bosch bike eg Raliegh Captus which has bigger battery, fully built, same price, proven reliability, guarantee as new, . If it were at 800 stl it might compete. Let alone the cheaper hub motor bikes....

I love their Bluetooth switch for the handlebars. I wish some Chinese guy would get that idea too and make a controller with one.

Cheaper solution: HL battery with integrated Bluetooth controller (rumour has it one exists...) and a rear wheel hub motor. When you want to ride a normal bike you swap out the rear wheel and take the battery off. Torque arm and axle would need a little improvisation maybe? All that is left on the bike is the battery holder with controller and the wire back to the motor.

Why didn't they provide the option of a proper battery? 100WH will barely get you up the first hill. It doesn't make sense when a 20 x 18650 battery gives 36v, 226 Wh and only weighs 1 kg. Why would anybody want less?

Lots of Germany is flat and practically all of The Netherlands, they are the people who will fork out 1500€ to kit an existing bike. That is my guess. They seem very keen to sell you several batteries so I guess the margin is more comfortable on a teeny battery that is not of much use out of the flat lands.
