Any experience with Estarli 28.8 Hybrid or Trapez?

We have decided to uprate our 9 year old ebikes and are looking at the Estrali 28.8, both male and female (step through) versions for me and my hubby.

We like the bikes that seem to be light and minimalist with decent specs for leisure riding in our local Lancashire hills. We also have a dealer very near us who stocks them, which is very handy. We are both light and are fairly fit for pensioners and would only be doing about 15 to 20mls on the country roads which are all hilly.

Has anyone had any personal experience of these bikes?
Do they have a good reputation?

Woosh and wisper both contribute in here and sell bikes with quality parts and very good reps.

Most off the shelf branded bikes will come with batteries and control systems designed to NOT be compatible with generic replacements. Custom built in battery formats, and 'smart' batteries that need to send info to the control system to keep the power on and stop the use of cheaper generic secondary or replacement batteries are all too common.

Price up spare and replacement batteries before you click buy.. if unavailable now no way will there be any for sale 3-4 yrs down the rd Dealers often attempt to upscale battery replacement enquiries to new bike sales..

If you could get one with a 10 year guarantee that covered all the electrical items including the battery, it would be brilliant. The problem is when something goes wrong a couple of years after you bought it. All you'll be able to do is rip out all the electric parts and make it into an unpowered bike or use it as a trellis for your peas/beans because either the electrical parts will be unavailable or they'll be very expensive.

Ask the dealer now how much a spare battery is and say you like the display thing on the stem and would like to fit one on your old bike. Can he order one for you and how much would it cost?

They do stock spare batteries which is £325, a reasonable price i think. Both mine and my husband batteries were still working fine on our 9 year old bikes so we're obviously don't do enough mileage and are careful with charging so it's possibly not a pressing concern. We would probably be past biking in 5 years time.
We are well aware of both Woosh and Whisper but Woosh don't have anywhere we can test ride in our area and we can't find a suitable bike amongst the Whisper range.
