I just bought a new Tonaro Esprit/Chianti off Ebay, whilst waiting for it to arrive I have been looking at Panniers, the question is does the Battery and (is the controller there as well?) at the rear generate any heat and does it need airflow around it?
Cheers.

Hi Geebee,

I havent noticed any heat coming from there at all and am, as we speak, looking at buying panniers too :)

Only things I am deliberating between are whether to buy cheap, black and cheerful OR more expensive funky coloured a la Basil type and also solid backs or not ?

Perhaps we can help each other finally decide on some :D

Lynda :)

Dive onto Ebay there are a lot of cheap large funky coloured ones on there :)

Whoops, thanks for the info about the battery etc.

Cheap panniers will generally be less waterproof and less durable than expensive ones.

Fine for occasional fair weather use, but not up to a round Britain tour.

I'd suggest ones with a rigid back, or put some stiffening in 'em - Mine sometimes get a corner caught in the spokes and sound like a grownup version of the old playing card "motor" noise:
Most embarrasing when you have to get off and sort it out, when you've just mounted
