DO NOT STORE OR CHARGE THE VEHICLE IN A POSITION WHERE IT IS BLOCKING AN ESCAPE ROUTE, IF POSSIBLE IT SHOULD BE STORED IN A SHED OR GARAGE. NEVER LEAVE THE BATTERY CHARGING UNATTENDED OR WHEN OUT OR ASLEEP. .

In truth it say this because nicotine is an an addictive drug, and while it is strongly recommended you dont drink the stuff, simply getting it on your fingers or a bit on your tongue is going to do no harm whatsoever. Its worse case scenario, the toxic effect if you drank a pint of it, or you had a bath in the stuff.
You can charge your £5k bike anywhere, because the whole system of charging from the battery to the charger to the wiring has gone through stringent safety procedures, to enable manufacturers to sell ebikes in shops. The same warnings you'll find on a 200 quid cordless drill. Is the drill unit going to burst into flames ? no it isn't.
Car maintenance manuals used to tell you how to fix any part of your car, now they tell you not to drink the contents of the battery
